Testimonials Writing Workshops

  • “On Thursday the 6th of October, Ruth Stacey came to Bowbrook House School to work with a range of pupils for National poetry day. She undertook three interesting poetry workshops with pupils ranging from Year 5 to Year Eleven.  Ruth used the focus of the day which was ‘messages’ as a stimulus for the sessions. The pupils were encouraged to use a visual stimulus to generate ideas for their own poetry. All of the pupils took part in the task which was differentiated to suit the and abilities of everyone involved.  During each workshop there was a ‘buzz’ created by the ideas and discussion generated. Ruth’s use of humour and storytelling meant that the children were intrigued and willing to take part. The best part for us as teachers was the willingness of the pupils to take part in writing their own poetry. Ruth made all of the pupils feel like they could achieve. A great time was had by all! Thank you Ruth.”

  • “Ruth gave us a lovely morning in the library. Her warmth and enthusiasm for poetry rubbed off on the pupils, resulting in them creating their own poems so that they all went away with a strong sense of achievement. A very positive experience!”

  • “I have engaged Ruth to work on a number of different projects within the Gallery setting.

On each occasion, Ruth has been a pleasure, and inspiration to work with.  She is a professional facilitator – calm, collected and informative.

But more than that, Ruth has the enviable ability to take her audience to another place, another world, another language. You are totally drawn in by her words and poetry.”
